UNESCO Intangible Cultural HeritageUNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage
In Noto, as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, mountains, hooks, stalls, "Ao Kashiwasai Dekayama", Oku Noto no Ae, and Noto's Amamehagi are registered as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage.
Seihakusai
It is an annual festival held from May 3rd to 5th every year at Otokonushi Shrine in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture. It is one of the four major festivals of Nanao along with the Ishizaki Koda Festival, the Notojima Koda Fire Festival, and the Okumako Festival. This festival is designated as an important intangible folk cultural property of the country and is also registered as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage.

A Niiname-no-Matsuri festival that has been held for a long time in Suzu City, Wajima City, Noto Town, Hosu District, and Anamizu Town, Hosu District, in the Oku Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture. "Ae no Koto" means "Ae = Festival" of "Ae = Fuku". It was designated as an important intangible folk cultural property in 1977 (Showa 52) under the name of "Oku Noto no Ae no Koto", and was registered as a UNESCO World Intangible Heritage in 2009 (Heisei 21).
Noto's Amamehagi
A traditional event (youkai) that has been handed down in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture and Noto Town, Hosu District. It was designated as an important intangible folk cultural property in 1979 (Showa 54) under the name Amamehagi of Noto. In Murakami City, Niigata Prefecture, where the tradition had been cut off, a preservation society was established in 2005, and the event was revived (Murakami City's designated intangible folk cultural property). On November 29, 2018, "Visiting God Mask" consisting of 10 events in 8 prefectures including "Amamehagi", "Oga Namahage" (Oga City, Akita Prefecture) and "Paantu of Miyakojima" (Miyakojima City, Okinawa Prefecture)・ It was recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO as "Gods of costume".

At festivals held in various parts of Noto from summer to autumn, a giant mikoshi called Kiriko is carried by the children and parades along the way.
It is certified as a Japanese heritage site.
Abare Festival
Date and time: Every year7First Friday and Saturday of the month
Forty Kiriko, large and small, parade around the torch and are known for their courage to destroy them the next day until the original shape of the portable shrine disappears.

Ishizaki lantern festival
Date and time: First Saturday of August every year
A heroic festival that seems to be a fisherman's town, where about 100 men carry Kiriko, which weighs 2 tons. At night, 6 groups will perform a random dance competition.

Horyu Tanabata Kiriko Festival
Date and time: First Saturday of August every year
Kiriko, which is about 14m high and is carried by about 100 people, is one of the largest in Noto.
With the fireworks as a signal, we will enter the sea and go around the torches set up offshore.

Saikai Festival
Date and time: August 14th every year
Visitors cheer as the women in yukata, waistcoats, and white apron wear energeticly carry Chirico and parade through the town.

Okinami Big Fishing Festival
Date and time:August 14th (Friday) to 15th (Saturday)
It culminates during the day, which is unusual for the Kiriko Festival in Noto. The bearer carries Kiriko and rampages while soaking in the sea to the chest.

Wajima Grand Festival
Date and time: Every year7First Friday and Saturday of the month
A festival of 4 shrines in the city of Wajima. The highlight is the Shinto ritual, in which a portable shrine carried by a young man with a crimson face dances in the sea.

Iida Lantern Festival
Date and time: July 20th every year
Iidamachi is located in the center of Suzu City. The Kasuga Shrine's summer festival is a festival in which the gods come out to cool the evening when it is hot and harsh. It is said that it started during the Kanei era of the Edo period.The flower of the festival is three gorgeous and gorgeous "Toroyama". It is a huge Hikiyama float with a height of 16m and a weight of about 5 tons, with a doll of about 6m on the top.

Nine boats with big streamers, five-color windsocks, and big catch flags ring bells and drums, and run around the bay. It is spectacular to proceed in a platoon.

Mt. Sekidō Opening Festival

It is a lighting event held at Byodoji Temple in Noto Town, also known as Hydrangea Temple. The lanterns and candlelights fantastically project the hydrangea of about 130 species and 4000 stocks that are in full bloom in the precincts.
Hasebe Festival
July 19
A festival in memory of Anamizu Castle owner, Hasebe Nobutsura. A gorgeous period picture scroll is expressed by a samurai procession. At night, drum performances are held on a houseboat and a special stage in Anamizu Bay.

Bear shell festival

The festival is at its peak with the great technique "Shimada Kuzushi", in which a crimson large frame flag with a height of about 20 m is tilted to the ground and dances.

Kuroshima Tenryo Festival
August 17th and 18th every year
Wakamiya Hachiman Shrine Kuroshima became the heavenly territory of the Edo Shogunate from 1684 (the first year of Jokyo).
The Hikiyama floats that appear at this festival are gorgeous with the samurai dolls and banners of Ieyasu Tokugawa and his vassals.
